Creamline Caffeinated Cow
Looking for a creamy caffeinated fix? The coffee milk from Hidden Acres Farm combines their rich, organic milk with coffee and sugar. Those white blobs you see? That’s the cream that has floated to the top. Though their milk is pasteurized, it’s not homogenized, which accounts for the separation. Though it’s suggested to shake to blend before drinking, I like the way the silken cream tastes; it reminds me of the whipped cream on those fancy frozen lattes but better. In summer, I like to add ice. For just $2 per pint, it’s an economical and delicious way to get moo-ving in the morning. (That bad joke was lifted from their website.)
Where to find it: You can pick up some Caffeinated Cow as well as their plain and chocolate milks at their farm just north of the Blue Line. It’s also distributed locally to farm stores and markets including the Ticonderoga Natural Foods Co-Op and Cedar Run Bakery in Keene (props to Cedar Rub owner Kristy Farrell who turned me on to it).
